Re: Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Ah, the truth. The one responsible for most of the murders, the disappearance of Satoshi and other characters, the trigger for the mental breakdown of the main cast, Tomitake's killer. The one who watanagashi'd Rika during Tatarigoroshi-hen, and the one who also holds responsibility for the "Great Hinamizawa Disaster" that destroys the town in certain chapters, is none other than...
All the other crazy people seem pretty normal compared to all that.
And now, an additional revelation. The truth about Oyashiro-sama. Is it real? Yes. Yes it is. Behold, the true face of Hinamizawa's local god:

Shocking, yes? But that is indeed Oyashiro.

Takano. That's right, Takano. The "innocent" village nurse, who is actually a power-hungry, psychotic megalomaniac employed by the Japanese government. The reason she's in Hinamizawa is to eradicate a disease that triggers homicidal reactions in the people it infects. Of course, she's insane, so she takes pleasure in causing outbreaks of the virus, so she can have an excuse to wipe out the town. Her scrapbooks? Partial lies, partial truths. A mixture of her research regarding the virus, and random fairytales combined to invoke paranoia in those who reads them, causing the virus to activate.
If you'll notice, in each chapter, the respective character doesn't go crazy until after having spoken with Takano. Clue #1.
Clue #2. Recall the men in white/gray suits, and how Ooishi mentioned they appeared to have military training. They're Takano's "minion", so to speak. Recall that they only target the character who is "breaking down", for lack of a better term.
So why kill Rika? As the last surviving Furude, and a servant of Oyashiro, the villagers view her as an important figure. Even the Sonozakis, the ruling family of Hinamizawa, respect her. Her death invokes a wide-spread fear, causing a viral epidemic among the villagers. In short, it's an excuse for Takano to commit an act of genocide.

Re: Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Yeah its kinda surprsing but once you look at the evidence it becomes hoplessly obvious espically in the atonment chapter (Tsumihoroboshi-hen) where we learn whats inside those books
Though I do have a question about Watanagashi-hen (cotton drifitng chapter) and its "answer" Meakashi-hen (eye-opening chapter)
Okay then everyone who isn't sqeamish should defiantly watch this espically as its near halloween and trust me this anime will scare you more than most modenr-day horror movies

And within every chapter only two things are a constant, Takano's "death" in a fire 24 hours before the watangashi festival(despite her apperance there) and Takitate's death by clawing out his own throat, a result of his relationship with takano WG explained it

At the end of Watanagashi-hen shion...mion...ummm...whichever twin it REALLY was appears in Keiichi's room with the nails and hammer thing from Meakashi-hen covered in blood AFTER stbbaing Keiichi yet at the end of Meakashi-hen "Shion" falls from like a 7 story high window dying after returning from stabbing Keiichi so I have to ask..what the hell!

Re: Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Regarding who appears in Keiichi's hospital room, that's another detail the anime leaves out.
Spoiler

It was neither Mion nor Shion. The room was empty. It was simply a paranoia-induced hallucination, much like the needle/marker thing in Onikakushi-hen; Keiichi's actual cause of death in Watanagashi-hen and Meakashi-hen is a heart attack.

I'm saying i've really got phyically ill from watching some of it's episodes. Now this show is extremely confusing and hard to explain in words alone so i'm just going to give you all link on youtube.com and wikipedia. Trust me stick with it even if you get totaly lost every this is made kind of clear in the end. Oh yea and after it's over you'll never look at cute little anime girls or even anime the same way again i promise you that so watch it if you've got the guts.

26 episodes, and there's a second season airing soon, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai, which will cover the final two chapters (and thus explain everything for the people who weren't able to figure it out on their own by this point) =)

Okay first off the girl with horns is Oyashiro-sama the village goddess and second yes Kenchi died of a heart attack during the arc when Shion first showed up.

Where did you here that!?blue crow wrote:^i thought she is a half demon
Hanyuu was born hundreds of years ago as a miko with vast spiritual power but she was hated and feared as a demon as she had horns on her head.
In time she had a daughter named Ouka, who is regarded as the first of the Furude's, though in actuality Hanyuu is.
Hanyuu chose to take on all the sins of the villagers herself.
Having done so, she had her daughter kill her with the Onigari no ryuoh, thus purifying the village. This is the basis for the watanagashi, cleansing of sins, and beginning of the oyashiro religion.
Through her sacrifice, Hanyuu herself became the minor deity who watched over the area. In the past her powers were greater and the deeds she did contributed to the legend and worship of Oyashiro-sama (who is Hanyuu).
In time her powers faded until even the Furude's (Rika's Family) could no longer see her, nor did they really believe in her either.
Until the 8th successive female heir (Rika) was born. The one who would be her reincarnation.
