Battle Royale

Anyone else see this controversial movie from Japan? The plot is as follow while trying to keep spoilers to a minium:

Set in the near future, Juvenile delinquency has skyrocketed beyond control. So the government passes the Millennium Educational Reform Act, AKA the BR Act.

Every year, a random ninth grade is selected. They are taken to an island, fitted with collars that will explode when the wearer enter a danger zone or if the battle royale isn't concluded after 3 days. The students are issued random weapons and told to kill each other until only one remains.

Interesting movie, Japanese thrillers certainly seem more powerful than most western stuff.

I'll admit it could have been better.

But the 1st one was great. I had never seen a movie like that before....

But did no one notice that ever one in that movie takes ages to die?

One of the characters takes like 15 bullets in the chest before she goes down!
