Examples of gruesome battles:
1.In the manga, Brago gets his arm cut off and blood is pouring out of it
2.Wonrei has a giant needle driven through his chest
3.Wonrei tries to block Bao Zakeruga with his bare hands and the end result is his hands with gashes and scrapes and a tremendous amount of blood over them
I could list a lot more but I'm feeling really lazy right now
