Ah, so Scotland is joining The People's Republic Of California.
You can't smoke in bars, airports, not that I mind..well, the bars I do; because I will not leave a drink unattended at a bar. (at least in my neighborhood) It's just not safe.
I once took some night classes at an adult education center that was a "non-smoking campus" which meant you couldn't even smoke in your car in the lot. I broke the rules on that one, due to the fact that it was a gang infested neighborhood and poorly lit off campus. Didn't feel smoking with the Nortenos.
Restaurants is a gimme, it's just gross to be eating and smoking at the same time.

As far as alcohol, I've met some stupid drunks in my life and I would much rather hang with the potheads. I don't smoke pot; but I'm not above having an occassional drink now and then.
I don't like to see anything outlawed based on other peoples moral issues. Or, lack of control issues.

Ooooo yah!! They're trying to ban smoking in public places here as well! About frikin' time. I mean, with cigs, you're just slowly killing yourself without the high AND it's frikin addictive.
And I agree with Dretlin to some point.
"Drugs: Good, when you know what your doin..."
but it also depends on what kinda stuff you're into, like Vash said:
"Hard drugs like Cocaine should not, thinks like Marijuana to a limit."

And yeah, drinking's fine as long as you don't drink and drive. A friend of mine died for drinking and driving, and it's such a stupid way to die..

With drinking..I will some times but I'm against the whole get-drunk-everday. Not just because Father is an alcoholic but it causes so many damn medical problems!!

Cigarettes are ..eek. They taste disgusting. And not to mention black lungs.

I just don't drive when I drink. There're two thinks that prevent me from this when I drink: 1. My sanity and my common sense wich still remains inside me even when I'm drunk and 2. my friends who would beat the [censored] out of me when I just dare to get close to my car XD

Alcoholism can be a generational disorder too. That's something to think about.
But, who am I to preach...I won't even try to list some of the stupid things that I did while under the influence of alcohol.
Hm...drunks run in my family back to the potato famine. I think they ended up in America because they thought they were on The Love Boat.
Or, it was a three hour tour...

Half my friends drink and/or do drugs and/or smoke ciggys. One of them had done most drugs with the exception of date rape drugs when she was in grade 6 AND she started smoking along with drinking. I found out this year and I was shocked, how can someone hide that from they're best friends?! It wasn't like I was going to rat her out yet she never told me!! That really pissed me off buuuuuuut I was talking to her a little while ago, and the [censored] she has to go through. She decided to cut herself when she had no pot! Fortunately she stoped that. I guess that would be the downside of drugs, alcohol, and ciggs.
On the other hand I can't say one of these days I'm going to go with a druggy friend during lunch, but I'm not stupid I'll wait for someone else to try the weed before me to see if it's laced. Laced stuff is baaaaaaaaaaad!
Alcohol can be tricky. There's some sort of study that says the children of alcoholics have a higher chance of becoming one themselves, sooooooo I guess I should put myself up for a new liver now eh?
Drugs-good depending on the situation and drug
Alcohol- good depending
Ciggys- baaaaaaaaaaaad bad badness!

Drugs - No
I had an amazing mother. She had rules and she had RULES. you just dont break RULES. rules, meh...
She told me these one repeatedly and I have seen the wisdom of her words watching other people around me break these rules. She said:
NEVER
Do Drugs
Smoke
Get Pregnant Before Marriage
Murder
So I never broke them. Plain and Simple because I respect my body and myself.
