Let's Hear It For Indie/Alternative Rock!!!

First of all, Green Day is not great. Sorry, folks. I don't even think they are alternative, nor indie. Aren't they punk?

Let's hear it for Gorillaz, Muse, Weezer, Fatboy Slim, Wild Strawberries, OTEP, The Caesars, Foo Fighters, Blur, She Wants Revenge, etc.. I don't want to think.

The Gorillaz are not indie. They still rock tho.

ANd the only reason Green Day is getting so much s*** now is the fact that their latest album went too punk for Green Day fans. Rotten Headm go buy their older albums, you'll see how great Green Day truly is. And, yes, their older stuff is INDIE. The only thing that made them earn the title "punk-pop-rock" is American Idiot.

actually, green day still had a punk influence, even in their older work. it was just pop-punk, not hardcore. true, some had an indie sound, but it was still punk. Nirvana (goin off topic, bear with me) is a grunge band, but most of what i hard is more altern rock its kinda the same with GD

True, they're not indie, but they're alternative.

As for the Green Day thing, I've heard of that from people at my school. Though, I can't really say anything since I'm not a fan of 'em.

Tool and The Mars Volta is the only groups I now that's kind of Indie and alt rock.
