Goth: Stereotyped as everything haters who worship satan and everything defined as "Evil" by the christian church

Emo: Emotional wrist slitters who cry and write crappy "I want to die" poems and listen to music of similar nature.

im not saying i dont like emos or goths or watever they liked to be called.... but i think both ( the religion and lifestyle, not the people ) are attention seekers

How can the "religion" or the lifestyle be "attention seekers"? You mean the people because a lifestyle cannot be an attention seeker only people can.
And just because they're emo doesn't mean they enjoy attention. Hell, some emo's hate people and the spot light.

Don't over generalize

God, can't we all just stop the hating on this subject? Yes, I understand over half of you dislike the whinniess that these people seem to put off into the world; and yes I understand that the rest of you like this because you can identify and makes you feel better. There is a good and bad side to all this, like everything. If you don't like it good for you; if you like that's awesone too. Just don't go around shouting it out or you seem kind of whiny too.

If I could define "emo" as some set music style I would, but I can't; now fashion wise I can. It has a distinctive look to it, but don't just lot poeple into that type of thinking just based on the look. I've seen poeple that dress one way, but act a comnpletely different way; I think we all have somewheres along the line.

This lil' "emo" music thing looks and sounds like a fad to me. If we all just let it go it will die out, much like how grunge did. Well, not fully it'll just seep into the cracks and be a ghost name with it's few follwers left. Anyways though, just please can we stop gripping and growning about this. Blah, this is all I seem to alot of lately. It's kinda pissing me off, I'm not one to like complainers at all. I mean if your going to complain, then atleast try and do something about it besides hating on it. haters are bad, haters turn into bad people, and lord knows we don't need anymore bad people.

Arg! This goth/emo comparison we got goin' on is driving me up the wall. I know many, many goth people and they are nothing like eomo people. So just stop comparing them! I mean, have you ever talked to a goth person about emo people? Most of them hate them just as much as you people do. Goths don't go around moping around feeling sorry for something, most of them are quiet up beat and rather intellegent. Also, can you stop saying that goths worship Satan! Look, they don't, some might, but most don't. Alot of them are all a part of the same religous groups you people are. Heck, I know a christian goth for jeebies sakes.

Ok, so maybe I went a lil' overbaord there but still. Looks guys, just stop this hating thing. We all know this will result in a flame war and this will get worse before it get's better. So if we could all just try and get along and ignore what we don't like, I think we shall be ok.

I like some emo music. If the music sounds good then thats cool and I'll listen to it but I'm not gonna say I hate a certain type of music because of the bands image.

A bands image is what sets them apart from other artists in their genre but in no way is it a reflection of how good or bad their music is.
