I have! In fact, even though I tend to agree with most yaoi pairings, I have wondered, where did the idea come from to pair two certain characters up? I don't think someone just randomly thought of it. Someone must have seen some sort of attraction between the two characters. I myself have seen this, in Beyblade, and other anime.
That would probably explain why Yuri is always paired with a boy.
