Actually there is one book left and according to mugglenet.com it will not be out for another two years. she's supposed to start writing it the end of this year. i didn't really think the end was cheesy (and yes it is a word) i thought the overall feel of the book was melancholy though. it is a shame we have to wait for more people to finish the book before we can discuss it properly.

there are only going to be seven books according to j.k. rowling. if you remember a wizard comes of age at seventeen so they only have to stay in school until then.

Actually Animegirl, Frank is right. I remmeber watching a news broadcast when book 5 came out. Rowling stated how, like normal high school, the Harry Potter series will consist of 8 books, with the 8th book being the last. If you think about, how could Rowling answer so many unanswered questions in only one last book? I am firm in my belief that there will be 8 books in total. Rowling is currently one of the richest women in Englan and Europe, statistically being richer than the Queen of England...

Ah! Don't worry, I wasn't trying to flame you or make you feel uncomfortable! REally, it's okay. ^_^; But ya, I really wouldn't want there to be 7 books anyway, I like the series being longer. I wonder how Rowling will wrap things up in the next two, and what will be the best and most revealing, Harry Potter books...

don't worry about it. i just don't want to make anyone angry. hmm now that is an interesting question. i would probably say the next book, but only because with harry going other places in the next one he's bound to find out more about what happened in the past. still i did read today that it would be two years about two years until the next one came out.
