He hasn't really been in the manga until all the captains invaded Hueco Mundo, and he'd been fighting since then, so this "comic relief" confuses me too

In terms of power,yes, he would be considerably stronger if he had his shikai, but he would still be defeat able by other captains because of his fighting style, and over all control of his spiritual pressure. And even if he achieved bankai he would still be weaker than Halibel who I'm guessing to be #3 (from what I can tell by looking at his display of full power so far and the average increase in strength per number between the espada) So in other words, #1-3 should be able to take on any captain one on one and win pretty much 100% of the time. I'm guessing the First ans Second would be pretty much strong enough to take on Yamamoto and shake up the old man a bit. Hehe

Hehehe your probably right. Once again, most of it is analysis so I could be wrong. Since there are inconsistencies through out the manga/anime I can't say anything about strength with any more about 80-90% certainty. But from what I can tell Ichigo hollow form > Captain (for the most part) and Espada #4 roughly matches Ichigo in strength so unless another inconsistency arises 1-3 should be far stronger than any currently active captain.

but also Ichigo wasn't able to hold his hollow for for a full battle when he faced ulqualla (cant spell his name #4 espada) only after his fight with Grimmjow could he do that, and maybe that will make a big difference

The thing is Ichigo was able to match grimmjow when he went hollow. So Ulquiorra would still be stronger when he's in his released form.

So Ulquoirra is stronger than Grimmrow? (I'm at the part in the manga where all the arrancars are attacking Ichigo and company with Grimmrow leading)
But yea, what's the big deal with Grimmrow anyway? The vibes I was getting from things about him on the internet were that he was in the top 3 but he's acutally 6th so I'm like wtf now?

The thing is that the espada are the 10 strongest hollows so number 6 ain't that bad.
