"The Official FFXII Thread"
Re: "The Official FFXII Thread"
Oh believe me, I do. Honestly, there are so many things about this game that irritate me on levels I never thought possible. I'm only playing it because it gives me something to do =)

Re: "The Official FFXII Thread"
What else didn't you like? The severe lack of save points?
Re: "The Official FFXII Thread"
Where oh where do I begin XD
I'll probably edit this and add to it as I remember more things I hate =P
Spoiler
Show
1. The plot is horrible
A. The Stilshrine of Miriam is roughly the half-way point of the game. It took THIS LONG for any semblance of a story to form, and it's still not really going anywhere. That's just awful. And this is from a series that prides itself on having an "epic storyline". Especially since the writers also worked on Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story, which had wonderful plotlines.
2. The characters have no character
A. Where is Balthier from?
B. Why was Fran exiled from her hometown?
C. How did Fran even meet Balthier, and why is she working with him?
D. Why doesn't Penelo have any backstory/personality, and less dialogue than Ulf and Dahna in Grandia 3 combined?
3. The battle system
A. It's an MMORPG. Minus the MMO. And the G. And any semblance of fun. The Gambit system consists of setting a few options, and then sitting back while the characters do their thing. Even now as I type this, my party is gaining EXP and LP. And I'm not even touching the controller. Actually, I have a 345 chain going.
4. The License Board is ridiculous
A. Why? Seriously. Just....why? Can't use any magic, equipment or abilities without the proper license. I understand it's supposed to be a modification of the job system, but it basically screams "MAKE EVERYONE THE SAME". It's worse than the Sphere Grid. On the grid, everyone at least started off in different spots. Here, everyone starts in the exact same area. And the board is tiny.
B. The inability to see the licenses is annoying. The Golden Amulet, for example. When I found it, and read the "doubles earned LP" description, I was overjoyed. Then I got upset. Because I had to expend several hundred LP wandering the board in order to actually find the space with the proper license, and then purchase the license. This also coincides with point A. Sweet Bidoof I hate this thing so, so much.

Re: "The Official FFXII Thread"
About #3...I don't use Gambits...well, for my party leader, anyways.
About #2...It does tell you about Balthier...but not a whole lot. And Fran wasn't really exiled...she just sort of...left. Probably to see what's beyond that forest of theirs or something like that...I forget exactly why. Penelo...her backstory is...er...her parents died in the war or something...but that's it. And C...I'm not quite sure...
About #4...I liked the license board...and the Sphere Grid...I think it's a lot better than just the basic leveling thing. And B...I didn't really have a problem with that.
About #1...not much to say.
But I liked the story, nonetheless. I think it got really good towards the end.
That's it, I think...

Re: "The Official FFXII Thread"
I just lol'd all over that spoiler box XDD. It was great
As far as for #4, If you get most of the stuff early in the game, it's not a problem later. I had most of the board before I got the second storyline summon =3

Re: "The Official FFXII Thread"
Oh yeah. I dont really count getting weapons from chests anymore, its too random DX. Most of the time I'd just get 2 gil or something from chests, so I gave chests up.
