what was your first anime that got you hooked?

[Dark Lilly]

Inuyasha, Big O, Cowboy Bebop and Reign the Conquerer.

Was unemployed and discovered Adult Swim.

I remember way back liking Aeon Flux on MTV but didn't know why or what it was.

Anyway, I mentioned it to a SciFi friend who hooked me up with an Anime friend of his and she gave me all her old fan subed VHS when she converted her collection to DVD.

Life has never been the same!

I now have an "eight out" subscription to Netflix and a "ten out" subscription to Anime Takeout and have seen close to 140 different series, OVA's and movies.

And to think .... not all that long ago I had never heard the word Otaku ......

[Sanger Zomvolt]

I saw Choudenji Machine Voltes V and Tosho Daimos when I was 6 or 7, and I was hooked. I can still hum both of their theme songs (Sad, I know)

[Dark Wing]

Wow Dark Lilly 140 series thats so awsome I so evny you.

Well the frist anime I ever saw was Sailor Moon but I was so young I didn't know what anime was until I saw toonami a few years later on the cartoon network. This was back when they had Thunder Cats, Voltron, and my favorite Robotech. *sighs* those where the days.

[Sanger Zomvolt]

Yeah, Dark Lily has seen quite a lot. I've seen about 110 different series/ovas/movies, and some of them I never finished (e.g. Ninja Senshi Tobikage, Battleball, Akazukin Cha Cha, UFO Robo Grendizer, etc...)
BTW Darkwing, If you like Robotech, you should check out Interdimensional Fortress Macross, the anime Robotech was made from (along with 2 other series, Interdimensional Calvary Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada) subbed and uncut. you might enjoy it better than Robotech
