Not when each installment sells hundreds of thousands of copies each.

As for underrated, Panzer Dragoon Orta
There are still many people that seem to believe that the pokemon games are for kids when in truth they are not.
There will always be opposing sides to any argument. Always. However, it doesn't change the fact that Pokémon, with all its publicity and ridiculously high sales figures, almost a dozen video games, a long-running animé series, several movies, and a manga (Which I actually found to be much, much more interesting than its animé counterpart, for the record >_>), is most certainly NOT underrated =)

Anywho, getting back on topic. I'd like to add Terranigma to the list. As incredibly awesome as this game is, it never really struck me as being too popular. You all should go play it. Right now :D

I couldn't have agreed more.
Hey, Gears may be overrated but it's still [censored] awesome
How so? Please elaborate.
The graphics are beautiful, I love the game play, the movement is smooth. And ... chainsaw bayonette.

Honestly, I don't think Shadow of the Colossus can be counted as underated. Games like Shadow of Destiny, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey and Lesiure Suit Larry are underrated...

Mine would be Raze's Hell for the Xbox. It's so fun, though the controls suck out loud. It came out around the same time I think it was Halo II did, so it kind of got left there on shelves. I bought it recently. It was one of those budget games, oh you know the ones that had to be wicked awesome or they'd just die before they even had a chance to live. Your basically some really ugly thing that gets to go around killing extremely cute little things and you regain health by eating their bodies. Kind of reminded me of Conker's Bad Fur Day in away xD. Wooo go Kamikaze Bears xD.

I just remembered a game that I think should be mentioned here...

Mischeif Maker for the N64 a 2D game that was a lot of fun but didn't grab a lot of attention. Obviously because a lot of people were to busy being amazed by 3D grphic games that allowed you to go in multiple directions.

imo... the most underated yet popular games are the former westwood games i mean Dune 2, and the original CnC universe now these were games and set the modern RTS games into motion ^_^ and yet they were not as popular as SC or WC for some reason

I think Golden Sun and Golden sun - Lost Age are underrated, because not many people know about these gba games, I think they are both fun and deserve more attention, maybe even a console release, as in a remake.

Finally, someone other than myself on this forum acknowledges their existence. CnC set the bar of standards for all RTS that followed. Nowadays, it's all about SC for some reason. I've played SC and didn't like it. SC had too many limitations and restrictions and I couldn't get into it at all. CnC games are much better than WC and SC. The graphics are better, the units are better, and they lack all these unneeded limitations that WC and SC possess.
