Absolute Anime

Some that predate DB and Sailor Moon are Kimba the White Lion, Mach Go Go Go!(Speed Racer in english) and the original Astro Boy.

I think some people don't like anime because it came from somewhere that isnt the US.(thatswhat some cretin at my old school said, which got him a lot of dirty looks) Another possible reason is because of 4-kids killing some animes like, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! in later years. But then, Pokemon set this weird train of thought for people (In my area) that all anime consisted of yellow mice that shot electricity. The whole "Anime is for nerds" deal came along around the time Cartoon Network started showing Ronin Warriors or so.. Or possibly before that. I never will understand the mentality of some peoples

My uncle said anime "isn't real art."

So I sat him down and forced him to watch several hours of the Anime movies and episodes at my disposal to prove him wrong.
He still said "Well, they don't draw all the scenes seperately."
So I made him watch all the extra stuff they put on the DVD.

He got pissed and went home.

Edit: Oh yeah. My point is, that alot of people really only like the 'art' of their own county.... maybe.

Well personally, the only I've alienated people when i show my true otakuness, is when I argue with my friends about Full Metal Alchemist being better than Superman comics and or Naruto, which it is, mind you. I've actually gone to anime conventions with co-workers, the biggest [censored] at my job is totally gay for FMA and he calls people who read comics losers... So I don't know where you guys are coming from... It must suck for you guys.

When one associates with a variety of people one discoverers that FMA is still very much indeed overrated. It always has been and most likely always will be.

I'm not really sure why some people dont like Anime, but here in England their was some News website saying that Anime has recently gotten very popular (This is mainly because of Naruto's Release here it also stated

) in the UK and more decent stores are gonna start selling them! Anime is quite a rare thing here apart from the odd anime shops in London and Stevenage!!
The only Anime DVD's ive seen in shops are a few films like Spirited Away and stuff!
Although i have the internet to thank fore my amazing collection! ^ ^

my favorite is the comic book fanatic making fun of me at a friends barbaque because i watch anime. Especially since the guy had just got done bragging to a friend of mine that he had over 27,000 comics. 27 THOUSAND!!! I also got called pedophile by one of my co-workers because i watch Bleach. HUH???!!!

Some people have yet to figure out the awesomeness of Anime.

The ones that don't like it have either never seen it, or don't like the way it is set up because they just don't understand. ^^ Most people think Anime is just porn for some odd reason. I don't own much anime -has a bunch of managas though- But a friend of mine broke two computers by overloading anime into them -I didn't know you could do that...-

Plus American's draw the comics in a western style. -icky- that bulges out the muscles way to much. It just looks to stupid. -doesn't read nor watch American animation.- and has the strangest sound effects that take over the whole page and/or screen.

None of my friends watch anime so I cant speak on that, if FMA is overrated please tell me why it is, Bleach and Naruto seem like the most talked about anime write know, and I think there both overrated, so if you think FMA is overrated you dont know anything about anime.
