Kei scowled at Suka as she entered Gouki's house and folded her arms.
"So your back again then? For how long may I ask? And Gouki, your sending waves of energy to the village. Villagers are gonna suspect something!! Again! Remember last time? I had to come in here and fight a 'monster'. I was cold and wet for days. Talking of cold and wet," she said as she looked out the window, "the weathers clearing up. I might leave this village Gouki," she said suddenly, "What should happen to the villagers then though," she looked at Suka as she said this, her arms still crossed across her chest.

Well there is always setting up protections around the village...What if were to somehow trick them into believing that they already sacked this village... shouldn't be too should it? Its a chance to weaken the steel guard and protect this village.

"that could work...but the steel guard would demand bodies, some sort of sign that human life was taken...else the villagers would have been said to flee"

There was a flash of lightning, the three steel guard had set up a comfortable stone shelter outside the village. The large man looked out at the rain and he was approached by a masked scout, he had his bow at his back, sword at his side and was drenched from head to toe

"what news?"
"they are 3 days away"
"dammit...that's not enough time to train these villagers for the up coming battle, it will be footmen, the ice kingdom cannot transport their cavalry, and machinery in this weather...unless they freeze the earth"

the girl looked up at the man "shouldn't we just tell the villagers that they'll be under attack?"

the smaller man shook his head "we already declared that we would be drafting them tomorrow...no point in telling them, they will be under attack...it will also bring panic and they don't have anywhere to go to"

the larger man let the scout go inside and warm up by the fire "any report on the numbers?"

"from what the other scouts report it's one hundred men...majority of them are fresh from training, and it is being led by an elder captain, and a trio of novice mages" the scout said warming his hands by the fire

"well their lucky we're here...that seems good enough for the three of us to handle, but we still need soldiers to guard the homes while we're fending them off..." noted the younger man, his voice described him to be in his late teens.

Suka looks up at Kei as she puts Gouki's arm back in it's socket, "The villagers? Well that's up to the ice kingdom... I'm not sure how far away they are, but a small force is heading this way. That's why we're drafting the villagers... So they can help defend their homes, but due to some certain people their homes might not be around at the end of the week."

Gouki then hushes her before she can say more, "Say no more... The steel guard will have Master Gouki to help them."

*silent in the corner and starts mumbling* "Damn it!! I never thought I would say this, but I'm staying to help the Steel Guard...." *Gives a sly smile* "Fate sure does have a wicked sense of humor...Well, its all for a good cause anyways. See ya'll later. Oh, I didnt hear you guys talking like you knew each other or something like that." *Leaves the inn to find the Steel Guard*

"One thing I've learned is that there are always alternatives.
Now the obvious answer would be to take low ranking individuals of their army kill them and use their bodies. But I'm fully against the killing of anything no matter the reason. Which does not give us too many options does it." said Staun now rubbing his chin "I guess all that we can do now is take the wait and see approach"

*Finds the Steel Guard really quickly* "I'll help defend this village, but I wont to join the Steel Guard and you wont take me captive.....Ok?"

the large man laughed "well well, you want to join the steel guard eh?...first you'll need to be a mage in order to join, then you need to make the cut. only the elite of the elite get in here boy" he smiled and patted tucker's back "but i like your attitude, we'll get you trained up after tomorrow like the rest of the villagers...i'll see your stuff tomorrow" he said to tucker and seemed to smile behind his heavy mask.

"what was with that change of heart" Luriyu thought silently as he watched Tucker leave. "what do you mean their army?...who's attacking?" asked Luriyu now obviously intrigued

(mind you no one but those who are directly involved in this war know about the attack at the moment ^_^...so unless if your character is in the earth army or the attacking forces, or saw on their way to the village you shouldn't know about it)

Staun sighed. "By their army I mean the Steel guard, I have a problem calling them a guardian of anything as that would diminish the reputations of those who really guard the world, it is out of respect to them that I prefer to call them them the Steal Army.

"the old guardians of legend will never awaken...they are merely myth and will not return...they would have appeared long ago" Luriyu stated grimly "...before the military build up even started" he added whispering under his breath.

Luriyu was referring to the guardians in the legend of the beginning of the world. it was a story to the first Mystes and his warrior guardians who protected the world from the coming darkness, and it was said that the mage had came from a different world. and that the Mystes and the guardians would appear when the world needed them most, and the darkness and destruction of the world would come again.

The bartender smiled he was a burly man with a big black goatee and beard. his hair was starting to thin as well.

"talking about the Guardians eh? that's a good topic to talk about compared to that of the present war...I used to love stories about them...An old story is said that the six warriors had turned to stone before their death's and their spirits are sealed within those stones, and hidden as those who gaze upon the sealed warriors will become stronger and those who have magic already will master light and darkness...the two godly forms of magic, if they haven't already...but that's just a story" the bartender ended with a smile wiping the counter

"so do any of you need rooms for the night?"

"nope, it's seems i have arrangement with that girl...kei was it?...so what can you tell me about her?"

"they say she's one of those immortal types...drank from the fountain of youth they say... well anyway, she's old...looked like that ever since i moved here from capital when my uncle had picked me up and said he needed workers for this bar here since his son's became soldiers...sorry sir i digressed...she's a wizard...well you can tell from that show...and a mighty powerful one at that, don't want to go messing with her, she say's she protects this town and that she has, but as you can see she probably won't be able to protect it for long...the young lord is desperate...he requires soldiers for his armies but since he probably a few years younger then your self they say that a few of the generals want the title...maybe the grand mage himself, seeing is that he is a mystes and all..."

I'm leaving the Guard after this is over though, and I keep my own weapons!

"Luriyu..." Said Staun softly. "You lack faith.Faith is what keeps us strong, there is still plenty of time for the guardians to come, we haven't destroyed ourselves yet... Also" Said Staun looking at his fist" If the guardians don't show up then we'll just have to do this on our own. This is our world and we must protect it... the Guardians themselves may never be reborn, but their spirit could be. Reborn inside those who really care for our world"

"Hahaha sorry!" Staun apologized. "I get real worked up about some things... now about places to stay um I dunno didn't think that through!

"i'm starting to like this kid" nodded the smaller steel guard sitting around the fire with the scout "but guards are guards for life...there are always irregulars in military units so maybe we can consider you one"

*smiles somewhat* "Hey, I'm from the Earth Nation, but I just travel around, helping where I can. I cant find a place to settle."
