My last viewing: Full Metal Alchemist (the series, not the movies... can't get hold of these anywhere  )

I'm now watching RahXephon.
It's a little confusing now, but i've only seen 4 episodes...
It's not as theological or philosophical as Evangelion... at least not yet... :-s

I believe that I've heard RahXephon called Evangelion without the religious message so you probably won't hear much theological stuff in it.

Depends on what you mean by religion. There is a spiritual/metaphysical message in Rahxephon too.

Night Walker, Midnight Detective 7.5

Really pretty good. It’s a bit dated but the animation and character designs are good. He’s a vampire detective that solves crimes caused by “night breed” that possess humans and cause chaos. His sidekick is a beautiful female detective who also acts as his blood donor. There is also a cute, younger redhead who plays an important role as well as the handsome ancient vampire who created Night Walker. Worth the time and a definate addition to any vampire collection.

Some anime i have been watching recently:
One Piece - 9/10 (at ep 142)
Naruto - 8/10 (at ep 141)
BECK - 9/10
Bleach - 10/10 (at ep 39)

All are really great series, naruto would have been higher but it's becoming more and more like DBZ with long drawn out fights and pointless filler material..

Just saw Bleach ep 39, was a great ep ^_^

Please Teacher 6.5 Cute and a little sexy. A high school student witnesses the arrival of a beautiful alien sent to Earth as an observer. The identity she has chosen is that of high school teacher and yes, she ends up being his homeroom teacher. It offers a few good relationship lessons but is, for the most part, pretty much ecchi (sex comedy) with a bit of female frontal nudity and very mild sexual situations.

Crying Freeman 7.5 Very violent with lot of female frontal nudity and sexual situations. The central character is an assassin for a “Chinese Mafia” family. He and his wife, a woman he was supposed to kill, end up heading the “family.”

Just finished Kino's Journey, it was short but I loved it. I also saw the first volume of Someday's Dreamers and Sakura Diaries which are also good.

Mouse 6 Pretty much an ecchi version of DNangel. Hereditary thief who can steal anything but this one has three beautiful assistants who call him Master. Lots of T&A and sexual situations.

(Kino's Journey is one of my top twenty, maybe top ten favs. Someday's Dreamers is in the rental queue. Dont'know that I am interested in Sakura Diaries.)

After War Gundam X -8.5
After War Gundam X is a fun Gundam series, far superior to Gundam Wing and Gundam Seed. Its a shame that it was shortened to 39 eps from a planned 50 episodes

Mobile Fighter G Gundam -6.25 (average of both halves of the anime, 1st half -4 2nd half -8.5)
I originally hated G Gundam, but after rewatching it, and finishing the second half (which I never got around to doing) I had to change my original rating of it.
(on another Gundam related note, http://www.amazon.com currently has massive sales (up to 70% off) on its 1/100 scale Master Grade Gundam kits, and I suggest anyone who even has just a passing interest in Gundam to pick some up. $20 for a 0080 Kaempfer is a steal, and $9.99 for a Zaku is unbelievable. I just came from Hong Kong, and the Kaempfer Kit was selling for $45 and the Zaku was selling for $25. I heard that the PG 1/60 scale Wing Zero was also on sale for $20, but right now it appears to be sold out.)

Megazone 23 -9

Patlabor: The movie -8
Megazone 23 and Patlabor are both excellent old school mecha anime, and if you are reading this Duuz, I suggest you check both theses titles out, although I am, guessing that you've already seen both of them.

Spirited Away -9.5

Grave of the Fireflies -10

Nausicaa and the Valley of the wind -7
Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies and Nausicaa are all Studio Ghibli works, and while Spirited Away and Grave of the Fireflies were both excellent movies, I was disappointed in Nausicaa. Having read the amazing graphic novel series, the movie comes off as an overly simplified version of the manga, with most of the best parts of the comic book just being left out.

Gatekeepers 21 -7
Gatekeepers 21 was a dark and interesting sequel to Gatekeepers but it was too short, and the series wasn't the same without the original cast, it just didn't feel like Gatekeepers.

RahXephon the Movie -7.5
While I LOVED the RahXephon Series, the movie doesn't really do anything for me, as it was just a summary movie of the series. The alternate ending and the new scenes were nice though.

Ah Crying Freeman....that brings me back. I remember watching that when I was about 13, in the early 1990's. I thought it wasn't too bad, but I remember I had rented it along with Angel Cop, which I loved a gazillion times better.

I just finished watching Hikaru No Go, wow, 4 box sets later...but I loved every minute of it. Even if the third-fourth disc had terrible english grammar in the translation. I highly recommend it, if you are a fan of character development, because that's exactly what it is (or/and if you are a fan of competitive games, like Go). I'll be interested to know if anyone here has seen it. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

I am 5 episodes into Tactics, which I'm enjoying immensely, and up to the second episode of Soukyuu no Fafner which is awesome...so far!!

Last Exile epi 1-4.

Much better than I expected. A real Laputa meets Skies of Arcadia feel.

Witch Hunter Robin 10/10

Great well-defined art especially if watching on a large CRT TV. I also liked the story and especially the revelations at the end. The reserved note and good OP/ED/background music makes it even better. The only thing I didn't like was the horrific part (no visible gore/blood or anything) where some guys get crushed, but I suppose something like that's to be expected in a story about occassionally murderous witches.

Trigun 6.5/10

Attempting to mesh drama and spirituality with comedy and "Wild West" action doesn't seem to work so well IMO. Some of the art is just ridiculous, especially the bad guys and lightbulb-like powerplants with the best animation being reserved only for Vash, Knives, and Legato. The opening music was just okay with some good side music strategically placed at key moments and on the DVD menus but the ending theme was just painful to listen to. While the series started off well, the abrupt ending left something to be desired. Not as impressive as I thought it would be.
