Metallica's music changed over the years. Albums like, Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets are Thrash metal. Albums like Load, Reload, and St.Anger aren't Thrash Metal. St. Anger sounds like Nu-Metal. I guess you missed the part where I said "They WERE Thrash metal"! If you don't like this thread, then leave.

It seems like most of the people that posted in this topic believe that they know something about metal. But you see they dont, ofcourse Nickelback is a sort of metal but it is not considerd "true metal" because that is very pop styled and is very commercial.
Also it seems like some people around here like to say that the bands they like and think that are metal truly are "true" metal.

Go do some homework about the metal genre before going around acting like you know much about it.

Nu-Metal isn't Metal at all it's basically milabeled cross over genre.Yes, it is heavily influenced by Metal, but it is also influenced by hiphop, Grunge, Electronic music, rock music, and other genres. Usually Nu-Metal is influenced by Death or thrsh Metal, but if you compare them to Nu-metal, you'll notice a lot of HUGE differences. Harcore, (also called Hardcore Punk) isn't Metal either, hence why it's also called Hardcore punk, because it's a form of PUNK music! asfor Metalcore, yes it is indeed Metal, but it's also fused with with Hardcore Punk, so it isn't exaxctly true Metal and also it's missing Metal's main attributes. Grindcore is Thrash metal fused with Hardcore punk, but it's more Metal. Regarless of that it's still true Metal. Also, it sounds something like Death Metal, because it's related to that sub-genre. Not Metallica's St. Anger album. That's Hard Rock. You don't get it do you? When I say they lost it, I mean they have not made anything good in the past few years. In other words, they were good back then, but now they just suck.

I think all Metallica sucks. They're way to overrated. Mainstream Metal Gods is nothing to brag about considering there was some pretty sweet underground stuff going on unnoticed.

Without Metallica, Black Sabboth, and Led Zeppelin, there would be no inspiration for underground groups to form. Metallica is an awesome band. I think you should listen to "One" or "Master of Puppets" a couple of times before you make serious judgements about Metallica(my friend was the same way before i convinced him otherwise). ALTHOUGH i do totally agree that the new metallica sux

System's my all time favorite. All other Metal bands are great (Rage, Killswitch, Lamb of God, etc...). It just sux that Rock is being redefined now-a-days as Emo Rock (My Chemical Romance, Fall out Boy, etc.). Bands like Mudvayne and Disturbed have to get back the music awards instead of letting these Emo a$$h0les get all of the fame.
