Suzaku was that red bird guy (that was also gay btw) that showed up in the Hoshiyomi X Tsukiyomi chapters.

Suzaku is a japanese/chinese mythological character (phoenix) along with Byakko (tiger), Seriyou (dragon) and Genbu (turtle). They appear in Fushigi Yuugi but I was refering to a ninja ep of Inuyasha were those names were used.

^^ I'll check the number of the eps and the name, but it's basically about this demon who falls in love with a priestess and uses a weapon with two blades.
In the eps they met Houjo's ancestor (Akitoki) and he had one of the blades and the ninjas (with the names Suzaku, Byakko, Seiriyu and Genbu) attacked them to get the second blade so Hoshiyomi could rebuilt the weapon and begin his revenge.

a few years ago I went to a event and there was a Jakotsu!
It was a guy cosplaying Jakotsu!! XDD That was one of the funniest cosplays I've ever seen, for sure! XDD
