Yomiko and Nenene are roommates and best friends. if you watch the ROD: the series you find that out. Peace out.

Nenene seems to be crushing on Yomiko at some points though... and a little jealous of Nancy.
Some other women in Read or Dream accuse her of being in love with Yomiko which she denies.

I got the impression of a crush too
but in one of the episodes Nenene says to Anita that she lost someone really important to her (refering to Yomiko); then Anita asks if she's talking about a lover and Nenene says : no, just a close friend and shows Yomiko's picture.
but hey...it's japanese animation ...anything's possible
