I was lurking around some random forums and doing my usual thing (:'P)
When i HAPPENED, To stumble 'pon this
Read and be amazed.....

How many of you like The Lion King? Yeah, I'm sure a lot of you do. Well, here's a little page that you might find interesting:

http://www.kimbawlion.com

There's also a section on the left that says "Lion King?". Try clicking it.

Short story, Disney claims they'd never heard of Kimba before the movie was released, but their are countless similarities to the cartoon and the movie. Try searching "Kimba Simba" on Google, you'll get a lot of it.

See, Simba was originally going to be a white lion, just like Kimba. But even Disney says that their lawyers aren't that good.

Kimba's father gets killed just like Simba's, and Kimba has an aunt missing one eye that hangs him over a cliff about to drop him.

Simba's father gets killed just like Kimba's, and Simba has an uncle with a scar over his eye that hangs him over a cliff about to drop him.

There's also the famous scenes where Simba stands on Pride Rock, which is found in Kimba The White Lion, and where Simba sees his father in the clouds, which is found in Kimba The White Lion, also.

If you want to know more, ask, but I'm not going to type what you aren't going to read. It's all in that webpage, try giving it a look.

Wow... Nice detective work, But highly strange... If disney decided to rip off a movie, why would they pick one which has a website?? But.. Maybe the Lion King was a Remake of Kimba the white Lion, Just changed the names, characters and such a little

Nononono, That isnt there website, thats just a fan site :P
They call me P.I.P.u.f.f
<.<;
Nope, If you read it says
"Disneys artworkers actually used frames of kimba to draw simba"
And i believe i read something on there that said no one owned it, And disney didnt have rights to make a remake even if it WAS a remake :P
I also believe the law states you need permission from the original creator or owner or co-owner etc.
To change names characters and other such edits, Therefore and i quote myself
Disney did NOT have permission :\

Ah, Kimba the White Lion. This brings back memories. I used to watch this anime when I was a child. I believe it was written by Osamu Tezuka I heard about this a while back, but I wasn't too angry about this since Tezuka Productions thinks of the Lion King as a compliment, since the company used to use Disney as a role model.

But did they have legal rights to do so -_^
Still, I think disney should have asked before making anything

Ah, You got me there. 8) Yes you are correct, Disney should have asked. But if Tezuka Productions is fine with it, well, what else is there to be done?

Disney give recognition in the most help making of the movie to tezuka
And they stop calling it a "Disney original"
NO, It tis not a disney original :\ if this IS a copy of tezukas makings
Then they could be sued for fraud for calling it a quote
"Disney Original"
Original in the meaning of them trying to say
"We made it first, And no one else helped"
Any other questions or needings of answers to this question currently?

You shouldnt be surprised, Friend
In japan they dont have the same copyright laws as us in the U.S.
(unless your out of japan AND america, Then i dont know much laws of any other nations)
So it makes it quite easy to steal things from japan creators and releasing it in america and no one would know, Since it WAS made in japan
Quite easy dont you think?
I feel that disney should be sued for taking the idea, Calling it a "disney original" and releasing it without any consent of it given to tezuka

You are just now figuring that Disney ripped that off? I had to get into an arguement with my hubby that Disney always rips off other peoples stories. Have they even done ONE story on their own? Maybe Lilo and Stitch. O_o
