The anime itself is not a very complete one. It has a lot of plot holes and things that leave you going "whaaaaaaat?" but there is a reason for that that many people don't know about. AnK's origin trace back to a novel of the same name, written by Yoshiwara Reiko in 1991. The novel proved to be very popular, and months later, an audio drama (a CD dialogue from the novel along with music and sound effects) was produced. By the time the animation came in to being, it was assumed that anyone willing to pay 13.500 yes (around $ 115 US at that time) , per episode, to own the video's already know what is the story about. However, if you weren't in Japan, or didn't speak or read fluent Japanese, you were in a bit of a pinch.
The reason the anime was made, was to act as a sort of promo show for the novel it was made from. It's sort of like how the Gravitation OVA's where made for the fans, who already knew the characters and things so the directors could jump right into the story without wasting time explaining things to noobs. Concaquently, If you haven't read the novel , or heard the radio drama that was made a few years before the anime was released (I believe it is called Dark Erogenous... http://www.kirafics.net ...or .com one of the two, you'll figure it out.) Then the anime itself isn't going to seem whole. For instance, The black cigarettes that Katz always has in his cigarette pack, and that he gave to Riki just before he goes back into Dahna Burn to...well I'm not going to spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it
but anyway they're called black moon's and they are a sort of, dignified form of suicide, carried with you so that, should you get into a tight fix you couldn't otherwise get out of, you can get out of it. Which is why Katze carries them around with him (if you look closely at his pack of cigs when he is talking to Riki about Iason being his master you'll see a dark one among the white ones) because he is the leader of the Black Market and there would be a pretty high price on his head, should someone decide to capture and torture him for information regarding...again not going to say!!lols! loves driving you's guys's mad!
Getting back to what I was talking about before, I searched and searched for about a year and a half and finally, about four months ago I found one with almost 100% health and 23 seeds! I hit the jack pot, only I was only allowed an hour a day (when my grandparents where home) then and I could only download uninhibited when they were away, which happened none to often. It killed me because I knew how long it would take to download it. (a 1.22 Gig file on Dial up and an hour a day...you do the math..

However I hung in there for three months...yes you read that right, three months...and finally it hit 100% and I was able to watch all of the episodes. (For those of you who don't use BT, you should download it. Awesome program for downlaoding free anime,programs,games,photos, you name it, there's a BT for it... it lets you watch stuff once it's donloaded enough pieces! Not all of the file mind you, but enough to make you really really want to watch all of it...

Before I saw the anime I knew all of this. I just couldn't find a way to download it...now it is safely in my hard drive and on my I-pod and I'm much much happier!
