HIP HOP IZ DEAD

by LIL WHITEY
I know that this ain't the Hip Hop forums but I feel that I must b*tch about this loss. Hip Hop is dead, period. No doubt about it. With meaningless rap based soley on nothing more than bling bling blingin' and fu*king the hottest b*tchs how in the hell can anybody question the fact that its dead? All they ever talk about is materialism and I'm getting pretty damn annoyed about it. Can't we listen to some music that everday people can actually RELATE too? Because can't nobody relate to how your "ice grillin' and bling bling blingin' till the day you die". Don't get me wrong--I enjoy having tight ass chains just as much as the next guy but d*mn you all because I've had enough of it Mr. Bigg Name at the top of his Game!!!

Also why does every rapper sound the same with rhymes that sound like they came from Dr.Seuss's "Cat in the Hat?"

But alas, thats it. I'm done with modern Rap/Hip Hop. Oldschool is the way to go with peeps like Grandmaster Flash, Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane and A Tribe Called Quest.

But you know what? Since I'm not the first or last person to b*tch about the wackness of modern Rap/Hip Hop, I'm gonna end this rant.

And thats what really grinds my gears...
Comments?

i listen to screamo because i can't hear the lyrics... and appreciate the guitar if it's any good...

anyway...

Lupe Fiasco is a newish hip-Hop not about the Ice and bling...
hmm Pharell is on and off...
Fresh Prince ain't about the bling lately... but it's songs promoting his movies...

i can't think of any other non-bling artists at the top of my head

i don't think that hip hop is dead at all actually it's pretty alive i just think that a lot of it just isn't creative or imaginative anymore but if anyone can write a good rhyme i got a lot of respect because it's pretty hard to write a whole song.

Hip Hop isnt dead, its just the fact that the west coast is about materialism. i prefer grittier, true to life raps, the Marshall Mathers LP springs to mind about how dark and true rap can be. but, i'm more of a rocker.

I don't think hip hop is dead but I do see your point Whitey. A few years ago most rap was about representing your hood and sending a message across the world. Not sure what, though. Anyways, even though I like rock, metal, punk and everything else besides hip hop I'm still aware of the changes it's been through. Nowadays there is not one single hip hop videoclip were the singer smiles just to show how much "bling" he has on his teeth. What happened to good old fashion 90's hip hop? hey, I'm not aying I listened to it but at least it had REAL music on it

Yeah I see all your points, rap is not like it uses to be, old school rap is better.

Ah takin me back to the good ol days 8) But yea old school is more true rather than todays hip hop or rap or however it is. I see to some point that people are getting more......stupid and obsessive with getting a grill or bad ass car. I mean what happened to the issues on society or the way the person was treated in a crude manner? But.....what happened to the blazin songs? T-T

Yeah. Old school.

MC Hammer

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5

Run DMC

Tupac

etc.
The 'MC' in my name is there for a reason. It shows I like OLD school rap and hip hop.
