Prog Rock?

How about prog, or progressive rock? It's really a genre that started....well....with the Beatles, I guess. It's futuristic music; music that's ahead of its time. Obviously, the Beatles were waaay ahead of their time, so they would be considered prog rock. It's not really even limited to ROCK. It could be any type of music, as long as it's ahead of its time, or, well, progressive
So, anyone here know of some good prog rock bands? Could be old or new, doesn't matter to me =)
I could name tons, but a few of my favorite older progressive bands are Genesis, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, and The Beatles. So good new ones are Mauxuam, Xerxes, and Cardamar.
Any of you have some worth listening to? I'd love to hear 'em! ^^

Why does it have to be ahead of its time? Why can't music fit in just perfectly with the here and now?

technically, *gets riot shield ready* emo is prog. allow me to explain:
Emo started with the end of the hardcore punk movement in the 1980's. it bore bands like Fugazi. while retaining the punk mentality, emo was ahead of its time, spawning the "New Romantics" movement come the mid 80's. most people consider it to be a time of romantic pop, but, its really emo. i usually like emo, but that crap was...well... crap. the modern emo is usually embedded within goth rock and pop punk. (note how i didnt say goth METAL)
the modern emo music, as said, is found in punk and goth, spawning the likes of AFI, The Used, Jimmy Eat World, Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, etc. however, there are some exceptions, that follow a slightly more hardcore New Romantics feel. (HIM namely)
ahead of its time by 20 years i say. my friend Squigs says that this is gonna be the year of Emo/EmoCore/Screamo. get used to it

No need to stick up for me pal. I have heaps of accounts, plus I know how to use an IP proxy so he can't ban my address. Not that I'd likely bother anyway.
Oh wait, you probably knew that, right?
