... uhhh, Nightwish and Within Temptation arent my idea of "Gothic." when i came here, i was expected some clichéd gothic, like Manson. but, i have been wrong more times than i have been right, and this is no exception.

outta the 2, i say both, cause i've only heard one song from both. but, for the whole gothic thing, i say Opeth. \,,/

This music is kind of gothic, but its only ONE of the trends of gothic, like Marilyn manson ( <3333 ) is normally considered gothic, and some people call H.I.M. gothic (which i agree with), so you have gothic metal and/or rock, then there is Nightwish and other simular artists that also fall into simular catagories, but they aren't really as gothic in my opinion, they sing about different things, but its still gothic. then there are things like Skinny Puppy ( <3333 ), and alien Sex fiend, which are basicly Gothic Industrial. and last (that i can think of right now) but not lest, there is also the Black metal and [censored], like Cradle of Filth (also <3333 ), they are really gothic but they are a completely different genre then manson and nightwish...

oh and then there is also things like Evanescence, which are also a form of gothic music...

anyway, the point is, gothic basicly is a mind set, or a focus point, which makes the music what it is, not the music itself, so...yeah... had to kinda rant for no reason there...

though im sure most of u already know all this

bloody hell, i hard to read that several times to understand it. i HIGHLY recommend "Opeth." Black Metal. Hard to melodic quicker than flash gordon on full sprint. Genius.
