I felt the new RE film was a disgrace. It especialy angered me since it ruined the great Albert Wesker. Please leave opinion of it here.

Hmm I somewhat agree, I think Wesker was decent but his part was lame IMO. I enjoyed it but I agree they could have done a much better job on the LAST RE title...all in all it was entertaining but not as good as the first one!

I think that they all are!! They make Resident Evil Look atrocious!!
I mean you play Resident Evil 4 one of the most amazing games ever made, and then you watch the films and your practically nodding your head in discrace all the way through..

I liked it but the 1st was definatly the best, most scary. I mean, i watched it when i was 11 but still! lol. I think they have strayed of the problem of the you know, ZOMBIES???? ia little to much. now its all just about alices powers and the lamo hollographic dudes with way too much time on their hands. all in all it was good- not great.
Probebly wouldnt buy it. and that says everything lol.

Ok, first off, never ever go and see a Resident Evil movie with a serious head on your neck. Put on your silly cap instead.
I liked it because it was really silly.
The movies are loosely based on the games, they can portray the characters for the games how ever they like.

Thats not true, I am an avid fan and I must point out that the directors decided to go against the story. They felt they could make a better movie out of just Alice alone. For a HOLLYWOOD movie it was great, but to
say it had to do with the plot of resident evil 1, 2 and nemesis is going a bit to far, because they were not trying to make the movies like the games at all.
For what they were, a live action film, it was fine.

Why produce the movies to be copies of the games? That’s dull and unimaginative.

I never said they should, and no game movie was every like the games. ever. They always had to change a lot or make a completely different story. I do not mind, but the hard core fans do, although im a fan of the RE series I did not mind how the first 2** movies ended up, but the last movie could have been better.

I acatully thought it was on par with the other movies. Well as good as a RE movie can get - lets be fair.

I think...The movies were fine in and of themselves but they didn't necessarily earn the title to be associated with the RE series.
Mostly because of Alice, I think she ruined it for me.
Resident Evil is based off of survival horror of normal people who try to fight their way against the odds. Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca the first survivers were average cops that found themselves in a bad situation losing friends left and right and the treachery of their leader.
The games set the premise, and thats probably why the movies that are made from video games turn out horrible for the most part with the exceptional few. I am an RE fan through and through, I play 0-4 on a weekly basis with some of the spin offs such as outbreak and the awated number 5 that will be released sometime, is surely to set the bar even higher.
In the end...I think, well I know they could have done a better job. I understand why they did what they did, it makes sense on a whole other level. But I just can't put the movies in the catagory of the games, that would be insulting the first Horror games that ever made me cry, jump and scream at every turn of a corner, every time the music haunted my ears and each time the plot thickened between the characters. ((I was 10 when I started playing the first one))
Sorry my post was so long, p.s. being unimaginative is passing over the chance to reinvent and recreate the first horror that made Resident Evil what it is, but I suppose that there had to be a super-human fighting chick in it somewhere...
