I've been a fan of kenshin for about 8 years or so i've seen the entire series a good 10 times, movie a few times and the OVA to many times to count... and i still have no clue where RUROUNI comes from. Kenshin is never once called that and yet it is the name of the series.... can anyone explain? i've been tryin to find this out for a very long time and would love it if someone here knew.

It's because he wanders away from his past and just continued wandering until he came to where he came to. That's what I think.

Rurouni isn't a real word. It was made up by Nobuhiro Watsuki from ru which means "wandering" and rounin which means "masterless samurai".

I'm under the impression 'rurouni' is a real word and means 'wanderer'

And that you've confused 'rounin' with 'ronin'

A 'Ronin' is basically a master-less samurai.
