Light Shows

Ok, many people complain about Kagome always saying Inuyasha's name all the time, but that doesn't annoy me.
What annoys me is the characters always stating the obvious (ex: Inuyasha gets stab and then Miroku (or anyone else): "Inuyasha got stabbed!!") and the lights.
In the manga the fights involve more skill and better attacks, but in the anime everything is light.
Enemy dies- Big light explosion
New attack- Big light explosion
Swords collide- Light explosion
Wind Scar & etc -Big light attacks.
It's super annoying.
What do you think?

I agree the lights should be different colors lol

Not different colours, just take them out and put the actual effect.
The lights are an anime technique used to save money in designing the actual scene so they make a light explosion and desingn the aftermat.
I hate it!

I didn't know they did that to save money,I agree they should put the actual scene.

Yeah there are a lot of anime tricks to save money in production, like placing the characters hand in from their mouths or showing just the eyes or other body parts while their talking to save it having to make a dozen more mouth moving frames, for example, or just staining the characters clothes with blood and drawing dirt lines to simbolize injuries instead of actually drawing them.
If you read the manga you'd see how the scenes should actually be. The injuries and cenario tend to be much more detailed and you can see the actuall effect of what happens behing the light.
Lights are actually rarely used in the manga.

In case you haven't noticed, they also use stock footage for many attacks. Basically this means that they draw the attack only once, and every time it's used they just take the original footage of it to use. This explains why attacks have flashing backgrounds.

Oh, yes I forgot to mention that little factor as well.
Thanks, HI.
The amount of light effectss used on Inuyasha are enough to give anyone a seizure. I hate it since it also degrades the story's reputation.

The lights make it boring! It just becomes to easy for the characters to do anything since the light hides the details....
But I still love the show, I'm just sad they had to do things like this.

Well, It's not the only show to do this.

~True, but that doesn't make it any better.

Well, at least the flashing covers it. Some shows use the same background in their stock footage attacks.
Example, the first time attack x is used, the character in in a forest. This becomes the stock footage. The second time attack x is used, the character is on a space ship, yet when the stock footage is used, the character is in a forest doing the attack. The attack ends and the charactyer is on a space ship again.
Do you understand what I'm saying?

Yes. Luckily in Inuyasha that doesn't happen though they do tend to not draw a background during certain battle scenes and simply add a different colour of backgroud for each situation (like we can find in the battle between Inuyasha and Bankotsu).

Indeed. But we can't do anything about it.

I can realise that the lights are annoying; the old "IRON REAVER, SOUL STEALER" bit, I used to roll my eyes and look away.
Though, InuYasha has won countless awards for its animation. Animating is hard; and sometimes they just use the stock footage to save funds and valuable time.
I watch the show for character interactions, not the fights.
