Absolute Anime

hi guys and girls of the forum, i am new here and know its cheeky to start with a question but i do promise to help out in the future where i can.i watch alot of anime now, but years ago saw a eally good one i can find the name to anywhere on the net.

My question is about an anime film or 3 episode OVA [ about 2 hours in total] that I watched in 2002 or 2001 on the uk sci fi channel.
The story was about a fantasy world where objects and people from different dimensions were being miss placed in other dimensions.
The first character we see is a person sized robot that has the job of watching dimensions and keeping everything in its correct place.

The main character is a young boy that finds a young girl. The girl is from a different dimension to his and has strange ears. The ruler of the land is fighting a war and needs these girls from other worlds to power a massive robot weapon. The young boy spends the anime trying to protect the girl.

At the end the ruler and the boy fight in a garden area and the ruler is taken over by a robot. The robot from the start then returns the girl to her home dimension after she says goodbye to the boy.

Ive searched for ages for the name of this anime. I checked nearly all the anime on wikipedia with still no answer,I think but not sure it was produced by pioneer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm, sounds like Orguss 2 which is actually the sequel to an older series Orguss.

The original Orguss a war was being fought on Earth and a space elevator was attacked and a dimensional bomb was used, this cause the dimensions to cross over. The war ended and another dimensional bomb was used to try and correct things, but not everything went well.

Orguss 2 one of the aliens was left pregnant by a human and her child grew up on an Earth fighting a war with mecha left behind by the dimensional bomb. The one kingdom wanted the girl because she could control the giant mecha with out it killing her like it did so many human control batteries.
