Harry should have died permanently. I hate the series now.

You know GG, you might be able to get away with writing a parallel series...
But it has nothing really to do with Harry Potter himself. It's just a collection of fair tales from the Harry Potter universe.

thank god it's not about Harry. After the epilogue my heart just stopped going out to him.
also when Fred died I just sort of stopped caring. ='(
knowing me though; I bet I'll go out and borrow this book from the library when the rage dies down. I bet it's not half bad either.

Who knows. I could care less for the series. I'm always wondering though what the next big "literary" fan craze would be...Interesting enough, I've come to realize that teenagers over power Opera when it comes to the next big book selection.

I've decided to change this topic as "New Books" and now when I receive word of a new (popular) book being published, I'll post it on here. And here is another book that will be published.
"A Lion Among Men" by Gregory MacGuire (The best-selling author of 'Wicked') is going to be published in October. (ISBN: 978-006-054-8926)

My boss made me take the list of people who had reserved the last volume of HP through our store, and call every number and ask if they were interested in reserving Beedle the Bard. There were 700+ people on that list. It was blissful every time I'd get a "the number you have dialed has been disconnected" message. I think I only got through 10 pages before we started getting hit with tons of truck and a new returns list, so I haven't had to call any more people. :)
But I guess the book is mentioned in in the final HP book? (I only read up to HP #4, so I'm clueless.) Supposedly it's a volume of five wizarding fairy tales that Prof Dumbledore gives to Hermoine, and one of the fairy tales was actually in book 7. (At least, this was the extent of my phone spiel.)
...As I post this, Borders is reopening for the Brisingr midnight release party.
Haha, I worked the early shift, so I don't have to be there. :]

My store manager refuses to do a party for Brisingr. I haven't read the HP series, so I don't know if it was mentioned. I don't think it was because I would think customers would have said something. We had advertised Tales of Beetle the Bard when Breaking Dawn had been released. Good timing for the new returns list, eh? xD

Yeah, actually, I leafed through the tons and tons of crap about Beedle on Amazon and found where it says: "The book of five wizarding fairy tales, referenced in the last book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, [etc]" Which is good, because I'd be embarrassed if both Border's corporate website and thus, my phone jingle, were wrong. Whether it was mentioned by name in the book, I don't know.
Our Brisingr party was sad. I guess seven people showed up and we sold a whole four books, including my manager's copy. I don't know how much of a say we have in the release parties. I hope they don't want us to do one for Beedle, because it'll be a Wednesday night... I mean, how many kids are going to show up on a Wed night? Thursdays maybe, but not Wednesday. :|
