Hehe, I have never got the point about this time wasting applications. I understand it’s a very good filter and is good to have detail in the application to see if the person is trustworthy or not.
But I have seen this done in so much simpler ways, for one; there should be a simple layout or those who do not understand such as.
Username: (You need to know the person’s name.)
Will I be active?: (They need to be active; no point having an inactive mod.)
Anime Fan?: (This is so they can help members if they want to know something about Anime. No point having a Mod that doesn’t like Anime.)
Age: (well you need to know the age, but age doesn’t really batter, it’s the mentality that counts. I say anything about 13 because that when people star to mature. People say that a 30 year old Mod will be better than a 16 year old… Ballshit.)
Experience, Links if please: (Well, you want to see what kind of forums they have and are working at, to see if you might need them. And if they are fit enough to do the job.)
About myself: (Well you need to know what this person is like.)
Now, the spelling issue. I always say as long as you have got the basics and people understand you it doesn’t matter. It’s just the perfectionists who think people suck because they can’t spell.
OMFG! That guy can’t spell; he will make a [censored] Mod. Well look at some of the smartest people on the planet who have spelling issues.
Look, my spelling sucks. But I have an IQ of 137 to 150. One real test I took said 137 and the other I took said 150. These are real by the way no online [censored].)
That is all I can think of this moment. So all you guys sating if he isn’t good enough because he didn’t do this or that. Or it was ‘Detailed’ enough. It’s time wasting. I know you should take your time with these things but you know when you need enough time. In this case it’s as hard as trying to get a job in an interview.
Also…
Note to the webmaster: I think you should set up permissions for the mods; some mods can work in some forums while the others are somewhere else. It will make your forum look tidier. Also try not to have so many sub forums.
XD You guys can flame me as much as you like, you can say a spammed this thread, but that’s all you guys do is spammed. I know how this forum is. I’m just trying to get my point across. And do not say that my excuse is ‘My opinion’ either. It’s rubbish.
Also this has to be the most unique members I have ever seen at any Anime forum. I run two forums myself and they have done well, so you can’t really say I’m talking [censored]. I have learned all this from experience.

Sparx.
Thats too organized for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to spend on the forums..
Granted, your idea, and thoughts work great when applied, They also might have unwanted adverse effects on the site. Just something to think about.
Also, I dunno where all these people got these ideas of what is supposed to be in an app, and how detailed it is, and all that. But, They are wrong. Thing is, it all depends upon the person, the webmaster, and the Mods. Sure, having a good app is great. Its just not everything, and doesn't need to follow any length requirement or detail thingamajig. All an app needs, is saying Who you are, why you wanna be a mod, what you think you can contribute. Thats about it.

Hi there everyone. My name is SASSZAIN. I've been here for X amount of time, and realize, I like this forum, and would like to help it out, by becoming a mod.
I Think i'd be a great mod because I care about the site, and have a good impersonalized look on situations.
I think I can bring new life to this community, if i become a mod.

Okay, that was pretty crappy, and I made up a bunch of it, but still. Thats all an app needs to be. A few sentences aout who you are, why you are doing the app, and tha's it. The rest of the app develops through the thread. By seeing how well a user takes care of their app, you can see how well they may take care of the forum. The App is like a test, in that regard.
As for the spelling thing, Its a big deal because there is NO excuse for spelling errors online. If you use Firefox, ther is a built in spell checker. If you use IE, ask webby where the spell checker is, because i don't know xD. There used to be one at the bottom of the quick reply.
Biggest thing in apps, that is very important, Is the title, and the poll. Thats the first thing anyone sees, and it needs to be right. Thats all that has to be set in a certain way. Everything form there on depends upon the user.
Okay, I'm sure i could go on for ages, But I'll stop now, and see what others think. Athos, I want your take.

Don't laugh at what you do not understand. Also if you want to say some, say something good. Or even better noting at all.Sandro Mazzola wrote:This is [censored] hilarious.

Spelling should be good to very good. Ok Spelling and grammar is the lowest limit. Because sometimes if you have spelling that is very good, it may seem too good to some users meaning they won’t be able to understand a single word if some is posting in a very formal manner.
Thank you for taking note SASSZAIN. I would also like to see what Athos has to say.

Arguments are healthy. They clear the air.

As it seems like he probably more than likely will not come here of his own accord, I'll link him here. Expect his reply either after my current one, or soon.Commander Sparx wrote: I see, I just wanted to point out that I saw some great people who would make wonderfu Mods but they where turned down.

I remember typing out a long thing about how a Mod app should be, and what it represents. Just didnt remember where.

Stop trying to change AA so much =/
I don't like anime, but I'm running for mod, because, I'd like to help the forum out in other sections than just the anime section. Plus I could be on semi-frequently.
On a side note, you should use spell check. =/

Decisions to decisions are made and not bought, but I thought this wouldn't hurt a lot. I guess not.
