This is to discuss any movie you've seen that turned out better than you thought it was going to be. For me it would be;

Scooby-Doo - It wasn't the greatest, but it definetly surprised me.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Despite the awful sequels, this was, and maybe still is, my favorite movie of all time...

Pirates of the Carribean - Disney movies have been piles of crap. But this is the sole gem among that crap.

The Mummy - Brendan Fraser was in it, so I put off watching it. Then one day it was on tv and I watched for awhile. Long story short, I bought it on DVD the next day.

I'm sure there are others, but my hand hurts and I gotta eat dinner. So yea, you guys take over.

The Breakfast Club - I thought "Oh, it's one of those lame 80's movies..." but I really liked it. It's definitely one of my favorites now.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - When the first movie came out, I had already read the books a couple times and I thought they were going to totally mangle the storyline (they more or less did in the Two Towers though...) but once I watched Fellowship of the Ring, I was hooked. The actors were perfect. Aragorn... *drools*

The Usual Suspects

Got dragged to the theater to see it, as I didn't think it would be anything near good. I'm glad I went, I was completely blown off by the storyline. It's that type of movie where you think you know everything there is to know about the story and characters. You don't! :)

Some months later, it won the oscar for best script. And I was one of the lucky few that had seen it.
Even now, it isn't very popular, and I doubt that many of yo have seen it.

This is the movie that "introduced" me to Kevin Spacey.
There is also one of the Baldwin brothers, and Benicio Del Toro.

Great movie. My all-time favorite.
