eureka 7 and movie tie in

It is my understanding after doing quite a but of research and thinking, that the movie eureka 7: pocket full of rainbows takes place right before the humans leave the earth. Bones did not explain that well.
My question lies with both the Renton and eureka's. In the movie, they reached neverland, aka scub coral command cluster. Ok, first what was with the ship in the very last scene of the movie? Bck on topic, were the old Renton and eureka the ones who prepared everything the way it was for the anime Renton and eureka. I'm sorry if I don't make much sense but that is bones' fault for being cheap with the movie.
In other words, I think that...
A- movie Renton and eureka became consious of the fact they were inside the scub coral and acted as the role of the gods through the scub coral during the anime, and nirvash's "explosion" at the end of the movie was so she could become an lfo for eureka(anime).
B- movie renton and eureka didn't do anything.

I am rather confused as to how exactly the movie and anime interact.
Btw, when watching the movie keep in mind the time period and ignore the factvyhay there are lfo's flying around, and the characters are NOT the characters of the anime despite the voices and appearance.
