Show tunes means songs and music from musical theatre.
Recent examples would be Phantom of The Opera, Chicago and CATS.
A classic example would be Oklahoma or Fiddler On The Roof.
And yes, I like some of them. Favorites include Sweeney Todd, Eveta and Jesus Christ Superstar.
