Sooner than expected, Fullmetal Alchemist makes its return in this new series. Brotherhood is actually a retelling the the Fullmetal Alchemist story, except the events will be more faithful to the original manga. We are once again introduced to the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who attempt alchemy in order to revive their deceased mother. However, at a terrible price, Edward loses an arm and a leg, and Alphonse loses his entire body! (His soul is placed in a piece of armor.) As they train to become State alchemists, they quest for the Philosopher's Stone, a priceless artifact capable of making them normal again, but they discover that things are not quite as simple as they believe....and a much darker design lies behind the shadows.
