Peach Girl is centered on Momo Adachi. Momo is a member of the swim team. She tans easily, and has bleached hair. Momo is also forced to listen to rumors about her being sexually promiscuous and a beach bunny by her ignorant classmates.

Her only friend is Sae, who was the one responsible for spreading some of the nastier gossip. Momo is also in love with Toji, who is a baseball player, but Sae has her eye on him also.

Things get complicated later on when Sae makes Toji dump Momo. Momo is left heartbroken and eventually starts dating Kairi Okayasu and begins to fall in love with him.

In the end, when Toji tells Momo why he broke up with her, Momo is left to choose between Toji and Kairi.

The actual reason she has tan skin is because she was a former member of the swim team where she tans very easily, and her hair is bleached out. She likes a boy named Toji Kazuya, a baseball player, who she heard only likes non-tanned girls. This causes her to question who she is and have low self esteem. She spends a lot of time trying to remake herself into the girl she believes he wants. Her only friend is Sae, who is responsible for spreading the rumors due to her jealousy of Momo. Sae also has her eyes on Toji too. Momo's life gets much more complicated, especially when Kairi Okayasu comes in, a wise-cracking player who is determined to make her his.
