Help with finding a name!

In the early 90's i watched a anime that was about this space ship floating through space with these people on board it. And there was some sort of virus spreading through the ship and as it spread the ship would break off pieces of its self because the section was infected. The virus could also infect humans and turn them into monsters. This was a movie if i remember right.

Thats pretty much all i remember aside from it scareing the living crap outta me as a 13 year old. I'm just curious if anyone can remember something like it. The animation looked pre-90's

I also remember watching Galaxy express 666 around the same time. I think it was HBO or Starz's that i saw these on.

I also remmber watching another anime about these super huge tank and this big war going on. But thats all i remember about that movie. Perhaps this is tied into the scarey movie from early in this post. I'm not to sure.

But if anyone can throw out a title or something for me i'd be very happy!! These memories have been haunting me for a while since i got into anime and i'd love to see and re-live those memories!

You mean Galaxy Express 999, which was on the sci-fi channel along with a number of other anime.

The movie with the big tanks could likely be Venus Wars, the other other side didn't happen to be using a 1 wheeled motorcycle or monobikes. If so that was Venus Wars. Though I don't remember that on any cable or satellite station.

The first one you mentioned sounds familiar, but some of your version of it doesn't sound right. A virus attacking both the ship and people, and people becoming monsters. Almost sounds like the plot for a hentai series, but those will never air on TV not even HBO. But what other anime do I remember the sci-fi channel airing.
