Demy's Review corner! WARNING: SPOILERS! (Duh)
I've been trying a lot of different games lately, so I thought I'd make a minor review corner. XD Stupid idea because you'd probably rather watch X-Play or something, but I'm going to be stupid and put my two bits in.
I'll also take requests! So long as I have the system (nintendo, super nintendo, N64, gamecube, PS2, PS3, gameboy advance SP) I also have access to Wiis, so feel free to throw those in too! I plan to get more systems as my budget allows, so I'll also take a waiting list! XD
First game: Dark Sector on PS3
Playability: 8 out of 10, pretty good. But controlling the glaive can be hard!
Story: 7 out of 10, could have had a better background story, but then, that's not why we play games, huh?
Graphics: 5 out of 10, they could have been better. They were a disappointment, but there were still some redeeming qualities. (When I remember them, I'll tell you. =D)
Overall rating: 9 out of 10, pretty good game overall, I think.
I didn't get a chance to play all the way through it, given I'm poor and had to rent it from my local video store, Family Video, but it was as expected. I was told there was multiple difficulties, but at the beginning of the game, I wasn't given the option, so I assume I was playing on a normal difficulty. The chapters were decent length, if not a little bit shorter than I assumed.
The abilities you gained as the virus spread were pretty cool, except (as mentioned above) using R2 and the right analog stick on the Wireless PS3 controller was somewhat difficult. For whatever reason, it didn't like to listen to me, and it took me several attempts to get the blade to hit the electrical boxes.
With the glaive, there were several natural elements you could absorb and use. Electricity, Fire, and ice were the ones I encountered, and I think the ice was the most interesting. I ran out of bullets several time in the railroad yard, and there was plenty of ice to use to freeze the monsters and then smash them to bits.
Flaws: As with every game in creation, there are flaws. Here's a few that I think are noteworthy:
1) The special attacks for killing, while at first are interesting and fun to watch, get repetitive. Horribly so. I got to the point where I was seeing the same kill scenes over and over again. Trying to get a head shot was more interesting. Not that head shots are boring or anything. Just that in Dark Sector, targets are moving so much, its sometimes hard to get one if you aren't sneaking up on them from behind!
2) The AIs were a bit of a disappointment. I once lured three of the shield guys to a sandbag barricade that I had easily jumped over, and shot two of them. I then watched the third one spin around in circles three times before finally figuring out how to jump over the sand bags. =( I ran away after that because I really don't like getting killed by those dicks. xD I ended up killing him though, I'm not that bad of a player.
3) Its too late to remember what the third one was. xD
Most memorable moment: For me, it was riding in the four legged spider robot tank thing named Jackal. =) I love that big thing.

Re: Demy's Review corner!
I think she is basically saying that she wants recommendations for games for one of the above consoles that she owns. Simple, get MGS4. That's a PS3 game and it looks amazing. I have not played it yet so I cannot rate it, although it still looks awesome!
Hm Hm Hm Ha Ha Ha HA HA HAAA

To Russ:
If I wanna be a nerd, I'll be a damn nerd. Mind your own bees wax.
To Cold: This is my review corner. Sure, I might be some ameteur at this stuff, but I don't care. I'll humiliate me all I want! >O
To Amray: I lubbles you, hun. Thanx for the reccomendation! I've actually had a few friends tell me to try it, so I will get to it, ASAP! <33

Sounds almost like FF-X! I swear the opening cutscene was at least an hour and a half long. I had enough time to make food and eat it! :O
(But that's nowhere near as bad as the string of cutscenes in Xenosaga ep. 1)

I stopped playing that game because I wanted to actually play it, not watch it.Demyx wrote: (But that's nowhere near as bad as the string of cutscenes in Xenosaga ep. 1)

Dammit, what is with the Japanese and the unskipable cut-scenes, I mean I wanna bang Samus as the next nerd, but why do i have to wait for her to stop listening to some stupid computer tell me what I already know I have to fail at 10 times before I get it right?
May the mountains rise against you

*GASP* THAT'S AMAZING! SO CAN I! :O But seriously, I only use cheats after I've beaten the game once through or I keep a seperate file without cheats. Cheats are just fun things to do after you've beaten a game.Cold Revolver wrote:Cheater.. I can beat a game WITHOUT a cheap Game Shark... HAHAH
