Near smiled lightly to himself, crawling over to the desk and leaning over Gevanni's lap to grab a pack of cards. The black-haired man jumped, watching his young boss with an eyebrow raised. "Near?"

"I'm going to assume that Mello forgot, Reina, but knowing him he might be planning something. Keep your eyes open," the silver-eyed boy advised, glancing at Gevanni before scuffling back to his laptop on his knees. He blinked and dumped the cards on the tile floor. "I'm also sending over a gift, so you should receive a box in the next couple of hours."

"Shut the hell up, Near! I didn't forget!" Mello snapped angrily. Reina looked up at him in surprise. "You... really didn't forget, Mello?" she asked. Mello flushed and looked away. "Of course not, Reina... I could never forget. Your birthday... was the day we first met..."

"Mello..." Reina smiled, happy. "Why don't you open your presents now? You'll get mine later," Mello said gently, a caring look coming over his face as he gazed at Reina. "'Kay," she replied, and pulled Mizu's gift towards her.
