It gets very hot, but that's the beauty of Texas weather, it has the most extreme of highs and lows- can get as low as 30 degrees or as high as over a 100.

No complaining allowed because I am working a total of 5 days in my MONTH!!!!! off for Winter Break. Chicago has 10% taxes and my work is at 8%. I think. It was when I left. So I am more or less out a job, our taxes are higher than yours, and you aren't sitting here looking at streets and sidewalks that are half-ice, half asphalt.

True. But the housing prices here are expensive. And I'd rather have 4 governors go to jail than to be in the mess we're in. Also, CA has a higher population than Illinois. Granted, you're right, things can be a lot worse. But I have a hunch we will be getting there in a matter of months.
