Most overrated bands/musicians

Nirvana and Angus Young are overrated. That is, they are considered by a lot of people to be awesome musicians etc, when they actually aren't that talented at all.


Freddie Mercury is in a way the opposite, he is ridiculously talented. One of the best singers ever, and an awesome composer and piano player etc. He wrote all the music, including guitar parts, piano, vocal lines etc for Bohemian Rhapsody. Now that is impressive.

I have to agree that Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers are wayyy overrated.
They get way too much attention.
I see them everywhere! On purses, shirts, notebooks, etc.
It's ridiculous.

While I do agree Nirvana is overrated, Kurt Cobain was an unparalleled songwriter. People bag on his guitar skill, but most of them probably can't play any better themselves

Bohemian Rhapsody is an overrated song, IMO. Not their best, not their worst. It wouldn't be half as popular if it weren't in Wayne's World.

Killer Queen was their best song for me (I think Brian May wrote most of that one)

I can't think of any bands that are overrated as such. I can say that certain genres that are over marketed.

I hate the "fashion" aspect of music. Sadly it is and always will be breathing down the necks of musicians and fans alike. However! F that S. Just play.

That'd be insulting to Fall Out Boy. At least the guy from FOB has an okay voice. It's the [censored] bassist/songwriter that makes me hate them so much.

I saw a picture of the Tokio Hotel singer wearing a Venom T-Shirt (the same one I have, no less), and I wanted to go out and burn all of my Venom CDs and that T-shirt
