If you can provide me with links to youtube clips of songs, or just a song name that will be appreciated.
Below is an example of what I'm looking for, although suggestions for other styles will be appreciated. Thanks

I listened to it. It's impressive. But tuning down and sweep picking isn't quite my thing. I got out of the death metal/black metal/really heavy stuff a while ago. thxDio Brando wrote:Fermented Offal Discharge by Necrophagist
I listened to 'The English Way' and it was a bunch of powerchords. That song was all about the vocals, less about the gitar. It didn't even have a solo! lolRikoku wrote:If your looking for quite unique sounds, the Post hardcore genre (i find, anyway) is laden with 'em. I'd quite recommend "The English Way" and "Floods" by Fightstar. But in saying that, those 2 are probably gonna get slammed. Why not learn classic classic rock, Boston, Journey, Camelot, Floyd, Meatloaf, that kind of thing? No one seems to play those sweet sounds no more.
I found a bunch of bad quality black and white clips with some guy doing duets with violins lol.+:D.Ř.Ę.Ŧ.Ļ.Ĭ .N:+ wrote:I turn to musicians of old for inspiration and ideas.
Django Reinhardt, is a good example. He was offensively good. Considering he didnt have a full set of fingers. I don't play jazz or blues, however his "Gypsy Jazz" is fascinating.
I really believe if you want something that grabs you Josh, start your search from the 1960s and work back in time. Alot of people have forgotten just how brillent those musicians were.
Petrucci is awesome. One of the best I've seen. Chances are you have no idea what I'm talking about, but I love the slow part of his song Glaskow Kiss.Gaming Goddess wrote:John Petrucci is an amazing guitarist, so Dream Theater wouldn't be a bad band to look at.
Good [censored] isnt it?josh wrote:I found a bunch of bad quality black and white clips with some guy doing duets with violins lol.+:D.Ř.Ę.Ŧ.Ļ.Ĭ .N:+ wrote:I turn to musicians of old for inspiration and ideas.
