It's a game based on an anime, IIRC.

In this case, SDF Macross, part of the Robotech trilogy.

That's what Absolute Anime is all about. This is one of the premiere anime reference sites on the Web, and it just keeps getting bigger.

Locate Robotech in the Anime Profiles section and read up on it.

A word of advice, though, Mountain. Take a subtitled version. The dub suffered typical 80's butchery while sub versions stick to the original program.
