Oh and LAoS, starcation in and of itself wouldn't be particularly torturous, as your body begins to digest it's own mass for survival it releases endorphines, which then lessen the pain of hunger. However when combined with other psychological elements, it can be quite agonising, such as in a greek myth where somone was chined to a stone and hand grapes dangled above his head for eternity, as he was jsut about to take a bite tehy would be yanked jsut out of reach... This was an actual torture, a similar thing can be done with water.

In Medieval times, they would tie you to a wheel and you would be left outside where crows would peck out your eyes and your skin and the sun would blister your exposed body, and the restraint left you completely vunerable.

Breaking over teh wheel... another variation was to smash thier limbs with the wheel and thread them through it ying them off like limp ropes after the bones were turned to dut then pushing them down a hill, then leaving htem there to die...

There's one I heard about called the neck stretcher, and it worked like this:
The device consisted of a restraint for the head mounted on screws and the other end mounted on a shoulder harness. The victim was placed in the device and the screws turned. The victim's neck was stretched until confession or death, whichever came first. :sick:
