Backmasking

[Cherry Darling]

While looking at some of the flash files on http://www.albinoblacksheep.com I came across the Queen song, Another One Bites the Dust, and it said that it a had a hidden message it. Though I did know that there were songs that supposedly had hidden messages in them, I really hadn’t heard any, unless you count the one in the movie Little Nicky XD (which is fake, btw.) So I watched it, and I thought it was just really cool.

So I did a bit of research, and found out that this technique is called backmasking, or backtracking. And is the form of inserting hidden messages into tracks which can only be consciously heard when played backwards. Most of the time, these messages are inserted on purpose or sometimes by accident. Some people even believe that the subconscious can actually pick up these messages.

There is some skill required for this technique. And it requires coherent lyrics when played both forwards and backwards. Success in this technique is built upon carefully choosing word combinations that sound like other words when played in reverse. For example, the word "one" is heard as the word "now" when played backwards.

Now, the most popular of these 'alleged' backmasked songs is Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven" but backmasking first became famous by The Beatles.

I found all these sites where they play the song forwards and backwards, so I decided to post these so you guys can listen to the hidden messages in them. I also posted the name of the songs that is on each website.
