Re: A bit of a situation
Get an electric guitar.
There was a guitarist for the band Death named Chuck Schuldiner and he got an acoustic guitar and was in pretty well the same situation as you. When he got an electric guitar you basically never saw him without it. Later on in his life he became one of the greatest guitar players ever. So the same thing could happen to you.

Re: A bit of a situation
I've been playing almost a year now so I'm experiance with just about everything.
Some tips for begining learning chords, well firsly, just learn major and minor chords for now.
Fret your chord
eg. G chord
e-3--
b-0--fret a 3 here is you like.
g-0--
d-0--
a-2--
e-3--
Strum it, if it doesn't sound right - or to check if you are playing it right, play each string individually. Make sure all the notes are played cleanly, make sure your fingers aren't hitting any adjacent strings. If your accidently muting a string or muffling a note or anything, do your best to work out how to fix that(shouldn't be hard).
When your playing the chord normally pay attention to your strumming hand. Listen to hear the notes blending in with eachother.
Do you know the song knocking on heavens door? Thats a fun and easy chord progression. It uses the chords G, D and C. Played in that order too. Sometimes A Minor(AM) is used where C is, so G, D Am.
G D C
-3--2--0--
-3--3--1--
-0--2--0--
-0--0--2--
-2-----3--
-3-----0--
A Minor
-0-
-1-
-2-
-2-
-0-
-0-
Inspiration? I just get mine from listenning to music and watching clips of guitarists and stuff

Well i really dont think an eltric is going to inspire you that much more. Honestly to my opion. I have no clue how to tune an acoustic so you're on ur own on that one.
Also, what better inspiration than the feeling of the satisfaction of learning a song.
