Who are you? Oh Maven. Hmm Fran is not the only the only good lookinh high poly 3d model that walks around Ivalice, there is also ashe and the other Viera's that walk about the city's. Dont you pay attention to the game, Hmm dont you apreciate what square has done for us? The whole game looks fantastic. Stop once in a while and look at the textures in the buildings and marvel at the beauty of the game, Fran is one of many beauty's that lie in the world of ivalice.

er.. I was talking about who looks much better among the main characters, unlike Ashe who looks older than her dead husband Fran is more appealing. And yes, I'm with you that the game is great so just chill...

OMG I hate the dungeon im in!!! Vaan fran and basch are all lvl 45 and Im stuck in this mist filled dungeon full of behemoths , baron gargoyles , and Other beasts of much annoyance. The dungeons name starts with a G and Is directly after fighting Dr.Cid.
BTW , When you get the chance buy CuraJa Its totally worth the 11000 gil!

yup ^_^ , but i'm low on cash >_< , i'm currently refitting everyone with better equipment

but my chars are

Vaan: 38
everyone else: 37

the first fight witth cid was pretty easy with Ashe casting Cura evrytime Vaan was below 50% hp. which heals 1500 hp with her (0.o)... though i had vaan die like 5 times... >_< ... but i hade 50+ Pheonix downs, 50+ high-potions and evryone knows Raise...i'm very magic dependant ^_^

anyway... what is everyone's character's used for? like what "type" of character are they?

Vaan = all around. mainly (1h weapon) warrior (he's all around cuz he knows first level green magics, second level atk magic, and most of my researched white magic, as well as a few techniques. and has the first summon)
Balthier = Gunner
Bash = Paladin (white mage + Warrior)
Fran = Archer--Spear--summoner (second summon)
Penelo= Mage (has all my spells in use)
Ashe= White-Black mage

dude what are you doing wrong? basch and vaan meat shields? Mine can do everything, heal, cast magic of all kinds and kick ass, there just like my other character infact, there all equal, although the warriors such as basch, fran, Vann and bathier hit harder and can dish out some great magic as well. I sugest you go find a good place and level some and maybe get bach and vaan some more skills.

Well, I'm currently at the Sandsea, after you beat Ghis and get Ashe and here is my party:

Vaan: Swift attacker, proficient in strength, magic, and speed. Can be a healer
Basch: Tank. Nuff said.
Fran: Proficient in all the magics, archer.
Balthier: IDK what he is...He's kinda everywhere.
Ashe: Healer and black mage, also quite powerful. One of the better characters both gameplay and story wise IMO
Penelo: Kinda like Balthier

I really enjoy using Vaan, Ashe, Basch, and Fran. Though I love the characters of Balthier and Penelo, gameplay wise, they can't keep up with the others. Yes, I do level all my characters equally, but I have more fun and get more done with Ashe, Vaan, Basch, and Fran.

I love the Sandsea level, btw. Though it's linear, it's very VERY fun, and is a nice change of pace from all the indoor, darker dungeons.

I let all my characters learn all the magicks, I felt it's more convinient that way.
I like using Fran, Ashe, Penelo and Balthier, though sometimes Penelo can't keep up with the leveling.
Ashe and Penelo are healers and Basch is the strongest of all my characters.

Hold on Cold...I never said Basch and vaan didnt have magiks. Its just that they never have to use them because they ussually finish the job before magick becomes useful. Vaan and basch know all the green , black , white , time , and arcane magicks but i never have to use them.
I dont know how you guys are getting ALL your party members equal in lvl because while vaan , fran , and basch are all lvl 50+ the others are really low lvl.
I got the treaty blade and im really angry...Its sucks just as much as the kings sword! Its looks really cool but its attk is only 30!

Its hard and requires alot of time... Like Lenfa said Penelo takes her time to level as with bathier.... and Ashe... so yeah, but at least when I go up against a freaken hard boss I could kick ass with confidence knowing that all my party members are equal (for the most part) in level, but of cource there stats will never be equal.... I have all of my characters learn every magic because it realy is usefull in the game, if Fran is low on MP and I need her to cast a curaga spell but she cannot I can just move on to the next character and have him or her cast the spell on the entire party.

On another note I like katana's they deal moderate damage for the low level ranks and even the higher level, but of cource they are more powerfull weapons in the game.

I like the katana's too, also the quickening's.
Cold is right, if you have all your charatcers in the same level, it would put your mind at ease.

i have my bache carrying axes... the only real downfall is the wide range of dmg... from 100-3500 which is very wide.... i don't have any 2-hand to buy (exept Katana's and ninja swords)...


the way i have all my chcaracters level is i do more hunts and take the long way to do everything... more time consuming and frustrating but it means everyone is kick ass... plus have a 1-2 character class for each character makes a uses for others. as well i have to point out that

i have 1 meatsheild-warrior to guard 1 rangist and 1 mage. train them in such.

group 1:
-Vaan (all around, sheild-sword warrior)
-Ashe (mage)
-Balthier (Rangist/spear, white magic)

group 2:
-Bache (white mage, Sheild-axe or 2-hand sword user)
-Penelo (mage)
-Fraan (archer)
