OAV stands for Original Anime Video. It's an anime movie that taked pleace in the middle or after the end of an anime series. OAV's don't usually follow the main story of the the anime and they're sometimes made to rap up loose ends in a story if the anime series as ended.Shotatsu wrote:What does OAV stand for and whats so special about it??

Yep, OAV does stand for Original Animated Video, though it is also called OVA (Original Video Animation). These are anime that are produced to be released directly to video. Sometimes they are extensions of existing anime movies or TV series, but usually they are just stand-alone series.
