Tickets for the event went on sale on November 11, 2006. As of February 15, 2007, ticket sales for WrestleMania 23 stand at approximately US$5 million, with more than 63,000 tickets sold. This makes WrestleMania 23 the highest-grossing pay-per-view in WWE history as well as the highest-grossing event in professional wrestling history, shattering the previous record of US$3.9 million held at WrestleMania X8. Recent WWE.com articles have reported the expected attendance to be more than 70,000 or 75,000, either of which would make this the largest WrestleMania attendance since WrestleMania III. As part of the promotion for this event, a fan rally press conference was held at the Ford Field on July 25, 2006.

Soul legend Aretha Franklin will perform "America the Beautiful" at the start of the event, reprising her role from twenty years earlier at WrestleMania III.
