i think pumpkin scissors is like post WWI but isn't exactly this world...but off true events? there's at least 1...most likely

I just wanted to see how the Japanese would portray the European theater of operations (Nazi conquests in europe and the allies attemps to stop them.) If Rumuko Takahashi made one on WW2 it would proabably be quite good! Thanks for posting, I will look in to this "Pumkin Scissors" anime.

That's what I was going to suggest. It's one of the greatest films I have ever seen. The live action is just as dramatic as the anime!
