I have just looked into what the XNA creators club is, and I got to thinking:
is it possible, even for poops and giggles, to create my own game (of sorts) by finding the source code that makes Snes rom's work, and implementing them into XNA's software to make them viable XBox 360 XBLA Games?
the theory is sound to me, but, my snag is:
A) I don't know where to begin looking for the program codes for Snes Roms.
B) I have no programming skills, at all.
C) The proposed above is illegal (because the games creators have the copyright, but, its an example)
I don't intend to release the games, i want to use it as a proposed experiment, so then maybe, me and some friends, as a crack, can release our own RPG. I, personally, think it would be hot, but, i need more information.
Jay, if you still come to this site, help me out? Any help (SERIOuS help) is much appreciated.

Re: Question about XNA, Microsoft (dot)Net software and Rom's
My first post under a different name, and it's to perform a little thread necromancy. My apologies.
Having said that...
Creating an SNES emulator for XNA would be uber-hot. Problem is, aside from coding an entire operating system by hand (which is essentially what you're doing), it is about the hardest thing you can do. Understanding how the ROMs work would involve you knowing how the SNES hardware works. Lots of info out there on it, and C# should be powerful enough to handle it.
However, I don't think that's what you want to do. Besides, even if the emulator worked, the entire XBL community would get on your case; after all, what good is an emu (legal) without ROMs (very illegal unless PD)?
... besides, if creating an CRPG is all you want to do, there's a toolkit for that now.
